IIAS & IBM presents a seminar on Careers for a Digital Tomorrow

A seminar on “Careers for a Digital Tomorrow” held at Nedfi Auditorium, Dispur in Guwahati on April 26, 2019, was inaugurated by Guwahati Management Association (GMA) President, Mr. S. Sarma; who addressed GMA senior management present as well as participants from various colleges about the need for such talks in view of the current global scenario of digital transformation and how digital learnings are inevitable for students who go on to become our future workforce. Prof. Saikat Sen, Chief Learning Officer for IIAS Education Group opened the discussion by introducing the participants to the wave of digital disruption affecting global businesses.
He also shared interesting anecdotes to give a glimpse into the practical examples of digital technology applications; such as cab booking apps like Ola, Uber as well as digital media channels like Netflix. The seminar was then steered towards a more technical discussion by Mohammad Ali Amjad, Senior Facilitator, IIAS Education Group who discussed the concepts of Data Science, Data Analytics, Big Data, Data mining, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) including Machine Learning and how they are used in various business sectors and in our everyday lives in today’s technology-driven era.
He also discussed the immense scope of such digital knowledge application in emerging job scenario for students and mentioned the various high-demand data analytics job opportunities available in the present global job market.
